How artificial intelligence is transforming the world

Image
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a wide-ranging tool that enables people to rethink how we integrate information, analyze data, and use the resulting insights to improve decision making—and already it is transforming every walk of life. In this report, Darrell West and John Allen discuss AI’s application across a variety of sectors, address issues in its development, and offer recommendations for getting the most out of AI while still protecting important human values. Most people are not very familiar with the concept of artificial intelligence (AI). As an illustration, when 1,500 senior business leaders in the United States in 2017 were asked about AI, only 17 percent said they were familiar with it. 1  A number of them were not sure what it was or how it would affect their particular companies. Black holes: Everything you need to know

Image
Black holes are some of the most fascinating objects in the universe Black holes are some of the strangest and most fascinating objects in the universe. They're extremely dense, with gravitational forces so strong, that nothing, not even lights, can escape once it crosses the boundary known as the event horizon. The  Milky Way  could contain over 100 million black holes, though detecting these gluttonous beasts is very difficult. At the heart of the Milky Way lies a supermassive black hole —  Sagittarius A* . The colossal structure is about 4 million times the mass of the sun and lies approximately 26,000  light-years  away from  Earth , according to a  statement from NASA . The first image of a black hole was captured in 2019 by the  Event Horizon Telescope  (EHT) collaboration. The striking photo of the black hole at the center of the M87 galaxy 55 million light-years from Earth thrilled scientists around the world.
